The Vial of Life program is a special joint project of the Lakota FFA Chapter, Lakota Ambulance Service, North Dakota FFA Foundation, and Alliance Pipeline.

The Vial of Life Program was started in October 2009, by the Local Lakota FFA Chapter Officers when they felt that there was a need for something to help the people of the community of Lakota prepare themselves for the possibility of a medical emergency. They took the Vial of Life program to the North Dakota FFA Foundation and were awarded a grant to get the Vial of Life program started. The Alliance Pipeline provided the funds for the grant and that money helped to purchase supplies for the Vial of Life project to begin.

Participation in the Vial of Life Program is free and requires one to only perform two simple steps. One must first fill out the Vial of Life Form, which will contain all pertaint medical information that one might need. Then one must place the Vial of Life Form into a vial obtained from the Lakota Drug Store or Lakota High School (addresses above) and then place the vial into one's fridge in a visible and easily accessible location. Finally, one must place the Vial of Life sticker and place the Vial of Life magnet on the fridge. Both the Vial of Life sticker and Vial of Life magnet can be obtained from the same locales as the vials and look identical to the symbol at the top of this web page. One can fill out and print as many forms as one pleases to store them in other locations. Two good secondary locations are the glove box of one's car or in one's purse.

Using the information contained in the Vial of Life forms, emergency personal are able to treat one accordingly and do not have to worry about if someone is allergic to something or not. We implore you to take the time to fill out the Vial of Life Form and participate in the program. The Vial of Life program is not just for the elderly or chronically ill, it is for everyone!!!!!
